Unsurprisingly, MicroStrategy made another move last week. 1,229 Bitcoins were added to their holdings, purchased for a total of $108.8 million, with an average cost basis of $88,568. As of now, the company has accumulated 672,497 Bitcoins, with a total investment exceeding $50 billion, and a breakeven cost basis of $74,997.
Interestingly, MicroStrategy may face delisting from the MSCI index this week. If they are indeed removed, it could trigger a chain reaction affecting overall market liquidity and institutional investors' allocation preferences. Changes in institutional investors' holdings often reflect subtle shifts in market confidence, and this move itself indicates something significant.
If MSCI kicks them out with one shot, it will be hard to predict what the institutions following the trend will do.
