Harley-Davidson Inc. (HOG) has unveiled a comprehensive leadership reorganization aimed at sharpening its strategic focus on dealer partnerships, product excellence, and brand positioning. The moves represent a calculated effort to centralize decision-making around three critical pillars: commercial operations, product development, and brand strategy.

Unifying Finance and Commercial Operations

The company elevated Jonathan Root to a dual-responsibility position combining Chief Financial Officer authority with oversight of the Commercial organization. This newly established chief commercial officer role consolidates dealer relations and ties Financial Services operations into a single strategic mandate. The consolidation reflects management’s belief that aligning commercial growth with financial discipline is essential for dealer profitability and market resilience.

Operational Leadership Returns

Bryan Niketh will assume the Chief Operating Officer position on January 5, 2026, marking his return after leading White River Marine Group. Drawing on twenty years of institutional experience at Harley-Davidson, Niketh will direct Product Management, Product Development, and Product Operations. His appointment signals the company’s intention to strengthen product execution and streamline operational workflows.

Marketing and Brand Coherence Under New Leadership

Matt Ryan joins as Chief Marketing and Technology Officer, effective December 8, 2025, transitioning from his CMO tenure at Boyd Gaming. His mandate encompasses unifying marketing, digital transformation, and technology infrastructure to deliver coordinated customer experiences. Simultaneously, Marcus Fischer was brought on board as Chief Brand Officer, reporting directly to Ryan. Fischer’s background at Carmichael Lynch—the creative force behind Harley-Davidson’s celebrated brand campaigns—positions him to architect brand strategy, oversee creative vision, and shape long-term positioning as the organization navigates its next growth chapter.

Strengthening Brand Continuity and Culture

Bill Davidson has accepted a newly created role as Special Advisor to the CEO and Brand Ambassador, concentrating on product innovation, brand stewardship, rider advocacy, and community engagement. Karen Davidson will expand her Brand Ambassador responsibilities, deepening collaboration with the marketing and brand units to fortify dealer networks and cultivate rider culture.

All key executives—Niketh, Ryan, and Fischer—will operate from Harley-Davidson’s Juneau Avenue headquarters in Milwaukee, anchoring leadership decisions within the company’s historic operational hub.
