On this Sunday morning can we stop pretending that the only “Christian” narrative is that the world gets darker before a rapture/anti-christ/tribulation.

That’s a very new concept in terms of the Christian faith. And built on fear.

From the beginning of the faith, early Christians believed the tribulations spoken of in Matthew and Luke, and Revelations came to pass when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem in A.D 70.

From that point, the Old Covenant was destroyed for all the world to see and now a New Covenant built on Jesus is all that remained.

The new covenant is built on hope, faith, and love.

Ask yourself. Is Jesus King now? Or are you waiting for him to come back?

So next time, instead of trying to escape this world and having a pessimistic outlook because you live in escapism.

Make the world around you a better place, love your neighbor, show mercy and grace to those who don’t deserve it.

And plan for a long life and the generations after you.

Jesus is King forever.
