Kwon Do-hyung Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison… Terra & LUNA Collapses Simultaneously
Original Link: https://www.hankyung.com/article/202512129088B
Kwon Do-hyung, co-founder of Terraform Labs, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by a U.S. court for allegedly triggering the collapse of Terra and LUNA, causing the Terra ecosystem’s virtual assets(cryptocurrencies) to plummet across the board.
On the 11th(local time), in a market for Tether(USDT) at a certain tofu trading house, Terra Classic(LUNC) fell 15% from the previous day, recording $0.00005308. Terra(LUNA) also traded at a 12% decline, at $0.1784. Terra Classic USD(USTC) plummeted 17.03% to $0.00911.
That day, the Southern District Court of New York sentenced Kwon Do-hyung to 15 years in prison for causing the 2022 algorithmic stablecoin ‘Terra’ collapse. This was a harsher sentence than the 12 years prosecutors had requested, and the court reportedly emphasized the scale of damage caused by the Terra collapse and the seriousness of market disruption.
Kwon Do-hyung’s extradition to South Korea also became more uncertain. He must serve half of his sentence before applying for extradition to Korea. The court also expressed significant concern about Kwon Do-hyung’s future extradition to South Korea.
Judge Engelmaier asked, “How can the U.S. control the possibility of Kwon Do-hyung’s early release in Korea?” and requested additional information from both countries’ authorities. Prosecutors replied that they had not obtained specific information about the level of charges or punishments in Korea, and Korean prosecutors only stated, “While the level of punishment cannot be disclosed, it appears that Kwon Do-hyung is currently contesting charges in Korea.”

Quan Dao Xing Pan was sentenced to 15 years, Luna is starting to plunge again, this script is really terrible to the core
It's another old routine of "founder gets jailed, the coin price follows to be sacrificed," can they come up with some new plotlines?
Luna is still playing in 2024, its vitality is incredible... No, it's deadly resilience
Let's see how many people still dare to touch this ecosystem, anyway, I'm scared now

Quan Dao Xing, this wave is really a textbook-level scalp, 15 years old and that's about it.
Luna is plunging again, I haven't touched these zeroing coins for a long time.
It's really outrageous, how many people have been ruined and become useless.
Can the Terra ecosystem still survive? I can't see where the hope is.
This is the true portrayal of Web3, one person can ruin the entire ecosystem.
I don't want to mention Luna anymore, it's too stressful.

Quan Dao Xing Pan was sentenced to 15 years, and Luna is starting to plummet again... This time it's really hopeless.
---
Another round of dumping, holders are crying their eyes out.
---
I knew this matter would eventually be resolved, and now there's finally an explanation.
---
Where are Luna’s people? Still waiting for a rebound? Haha.
---
Oh my god, just one court ruling has caused the coin price to crash, the ecosystem is really fragile.
---
15 years... feels more hopeless than imprisonment. Luna is really going to fade out this time.
---
So what about those who went all-in on Luna back then... I dare not imagine.
---
Another round of harvesting, the crypto circle never ends.
---
After Quan Dao Xing was sentenced, Luna dropped even more sharply. That's the market's answer.
