There has always been a fundamental problem with Web3 AI agents—in plain terms, they're just a "black box."

You think they're running on-chain, but in reality, all the core logic is spinning around on Web2 servers. How does the AI make decisions? Why did it suddenly initiate this transaction? What reasoning steps took place in between? Developers can't see through it, users are even more confused, and even the blockchain itself can't verify what this thing actually did.

Talus Labs did something pretty bold—they added "verifiability" as a property to on-chain agents. Not just lip-service transparency, but a real technical solution that allows on-chain nodes, developers, and users to trace the AI's execution path. The model inference process, decision rationale, and transaction trigger logic can all be verified and audited.

This is basically pulling AI agents out of the shadow system of Web2 and making them true first-class citizens on-chain. It's no longer "you have to trust some centralized backend," but "the code and reasoning process are right out in the open—if you don't believe it, go ahead and verify."

It sounds simple, but achieving on-chain AI inference verification while maintaining performance is incredibly challenging. If this kind of infrastructure can truly run, it would fill a crucial gap for the entire Web3 AI space.

The black box is finally making a comeback. If Talus can really solve the performance issues this time, the path for AI agents will truly be viable.

Someone finally opened up this black box; it should have been done a long time ago.

Now it's getting serious—someone has finally exposed the AI black box issue.

Finally, someone is willing to take a stab at the black box. This is exactly what Web3 should be doing.

Hmm... this guy finally hit the nail on the head with the black box issue, much better than those armchair theorists.

ngl this verifiability angle is exactly what i've been telling my students—trustlessness means nothing if the ai's just a black box lol

Honestly, the black box issue has always been my gripe... A bunch of projects brag about on-chain AI, but in the end, they're all paper tigers. If the verifiability part can really be implemented, it's definitely worth paying attention to. But as for performance, I still have my doubts.
