Low-level take: prediction markets? Just gambling with extra steps.
Galaxy brain realization: slot machines are basically prediction markets. But good luck convincing someone who just lost their rent money that they were "forecasting outcomes" instead of getting wrecked.
Funny how we label things differently when the interface changes.

That's too absolute. Isn't it just gambling under a different guise? "Prediction market" sounds a lot more sophisticated than "slot machine," but at its core, it's really the same thing.

Haha, this is exactly why Web3 gets criticized. Just changing the terminology doesn't make it any better. Gambling is gambling—don't try to dress it up as a prediction market. It's really disgusting.

Haha, seriously, just change the packaging and it becomes something fancy, but it's all essentially the same.

Ha, that’s spot on. Just changing the packaging and calling it profound knowledge, but at its core, isn’t it still just a bet?

Gambling is still gambling, even if you wrap it in the skin of a prediction market. Well said.
