Source: DigitalToday Original Title: Polish Parliament Fails to Override Presidential Veto…Cryptocurrency Regulation Bill Stalls Original Link: The Polish lower house failed to successfully overturn the president’s veto. According to Bloomberg, the Polish Parliament did not secure the two-thirds majority needed to override the president’s veto. This means Poland has taken another step back in adopting the EU MiCA regulatory proposal.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s government advanced the bill to regulate the cryptocurrency market, but President Karol Nawacki exercised his veto on national security grounds, causing the bill to stall. As a result, the Polish government must restart the cryptocurrency regulation legislative process from the beginning.

Despite the lack of regulation, cryptocurrency usage in Poland continues to grow. According to a Chainalysis report, Poland has become a major cryptocurrency economy in Europe, with overall transaction volume increasing by over 50% last year. With a surge in Bitcoin ATM installations, Poland has become the fifth-largest country in the world in terms of the number of Bitcoin ATMs.
