saw a growth playbook from the web2 world

web3 teams could run with this exact same blueprint right now

take cursor as the example
they didn't blow millions on ads or influencer campaigns
what they did: built a free AI coding tool that actually solved problems

no fancy launch event
no whitepaper drama
just something devs actually wanted to use

the lesson?
stop obsessing over token utility before you nail product-market fit
free tools that fix real pain points spread faster than any airdrop ever will

if your web3 project can't stand on its own without token incentives
you're not solving a problem worth solving

cursor proved it
give people something they genuinely need
and they'll evangelize it for free

Right now, all Web3 projects are focused on tokenomics; no one is thinking about building a good product. Seriously, the example of Cursor has slapped a bunch of projects in the face.

Talking about "product is king" again... Anyone who's worked on a Web3 project knows that without token incentives, you simply can't attract any traffic. That's the reality. Cursor is indeed impressive, but it's the chosen one among AI tools. What about our crypto projects? How are we supposed to save ourselves? It sounds nice, but at the end of the day, someone has to take over the bag. It's no different from a liquidation price—theory is perfect, but execution is absolute hell. On the other hand, if a product isn't ready and you go all-in on fundraising, you deserve to get liquidated... I mean, you deserve to be liquidated.

NGL, Cursor really impressed me this time. Meanwhile, the Web3 crowd is still stuck on tokenomics. They really need to learn what a real product is. When will Web3 finally come up with something that can go viral without relying on airdrops...

ngl this hits different when you remember back in my mining days we were throwing electricity costs at everything just to keep the rigs warm lol... cursor actually built something people *need* instead of another "utility token that totally isn't just a fee switch" situation... ROI calculations show free adoption beats paid campaigns 10x over, why do we keep forgetting this?

This is the right path. So many Web3 projects are still hyping up nothing. --- Cursor's approach is truly brilliant, especially compared to those projects that raise tens of millions just to spend on advertising. --- Absolutely right, the product is what really matters. Tokens and all that are just illusions. --- Finally, someone said it. I'm so damn tired of those projects that only know how to tell stories. --- Build something people actually need—way better than any marketing. --- Web3 just has too many speculators. It would be better with less of that mindset.

Seriously, these Web3 people are all about token, token, token all day long, they've completely forgotten what building a product is actually about. This move by Cursor is actually the best textbook example—there's no need for all that empty stuff.
