Stumbled upon a wild throwback—a 2018 pitch deck presentation from Solana's co-founder at some former Google employees meetup. Here's the crazy part: back then, Solana hadn't even launched on testnet yet. The whole operation was basically running through a Telegram group chat.

What really struck me was watching him blaze through those slides. The pace was insane, almost like he was racing against time itself. But you could tell—he already had the entire vision mapped out in his head. Every technical detail, every scaling solution, the whole architecture. It wasn't just a pitch; it felt like watching someone describe a future they'd already lived through.

Seven years later, looking at where the network stands now, that clarity hits different. Sometimes you can just sense when founders truly get what they're building.

This is what a true visionary looks like. Just a Telegram group chat was enough to support an entire ecosystem—how many projects are still this pure nowadays? That sense of conviction... being able to articulate things so clearly even before the testnet, it's really something else. On the other hand, looking at the current batch of projects with round after round of funding and still not knowing what they're doing, the gap is pretty big. They knew exactly where they were headed from the very beginning—no wonder they've survived until now. Has the PPT leaked? I want to get a feel for that old-school, down-to-earth yet determined vibe from back then.

nah tbh the vision thing is cute but let's be real—execution is where 99% of projects die. that telegram group energy? classic startup cope before infrastructure actually holds.

Damn, this is why some people can actually make things happen, while others just brag in group chats... There wasn't even a testnet back then. When Solana was taking off, I was still buying shitcoins. That's what real foresight looks like. From a small Telegram group to now, just watching this roadshow shows how clear their vision was back then... No wonder they've survived till now. This guy had already figured out the entire architecture back then, no wonder he was able to pull it off later. The best part about looking at these old materials is matching people to their roles—you can clearly tell who was just talking and who really understood the tech. It's a pity there was no recording at the time; otherwise, listening to what he said back then would be amazing now. Seven years later, I'm still studying someone else's 2018 PPT, and I still haven't figured out what scaling solutions are, haha. Back then the whole project was just two people on Telegram, and now it's become an ecosystem... all I can say is some people are just destined for greatness.

Damn, you figured it out so early. No wonder it’s now become a top-tier public chain.
