[BlockBeats] On December 5th, social platform X was fined €120 million for failing to comply with the EU’s content management regulations. The European Commission pointed out that X crossed the line in three areas: issues with its blue check verification mechanism, lack of transparency in advertising information, and researchers were unable to access data.

The EU has given X two deadlines—submit a solution within 60 days and fully implement the corrective measures within 90 days.

The EU’s technical lead specifically emphasized: this fine wasn’t set at the maximum on purpose but was calculated based on the nature of the violations and the actual impact on EU users. They believe the amount is “just right.” It seems the EU really isn’t planning to go easy when it comes to digital services compliance.
