If my abilities are average, how can I make money in the industry?
I thought about this question, and gave what I believe is the most sincere answer: Make yourself reliable! Because reliability generates compound interest.
Skills can be developed, techniques can be learned, but being "reliable" is the hardest to fake, and the most scarce ability.
What does it mean to be reliable?
It doesn't mean being flawless, but being predictable.
Doing what you say you’ll do, responding to everything. Not disappearing without reason, not talking behind people's backs, not saying one thing and doing another, not giving up halfway, and even if you mess up, you’ll give an explanation.
All these behaviors make people believe: things won’t spiral out of control when entrusted to you.
This is very important.
The Web3 industry is filled with massive profits, and in a field driven by huge temptation, many people cannot stick to their principles, many rely on shortcuts and speculation, so naturally, they don't consider reliability.
Most people, change their tune every day, disappear suddenly—it’s very common, and the cost of collaboration is extremely high.
But the more consistent a person's actions are, the more aligned their underlying logic is, the greater their credit premium is. You're willing to give them more trust, resources, and your future.
I've been in the industry for eight years, some fans trusted me enough to hand over wallets with thousands of bitcoins, friends, after seeing my long-term reliability, are willing to entrust important matters to me, so naturally, opportunities to make money increase.
So true reliability is a kind of stability over time, a promise that can be validated in the future.
The more people recognize you, the more valuable you become.
So if you want to stand firm in this world, don’t rush to be clever, first make yourself a person others dare to entrust.
Strength lets you move fast, reliability lets you go far. And those who go far, will always encounter compound interest.
