When you have nothing to do, it's better to engage less with others. In today's society, the simpler your connections and the fewer your friends, the greater your blessings will be. This era is what people call the end of the dharma age, where people's hearts are estranged; friends fear that you will live better than them, doctors hope you get sick, lawyers look forward to you getting into legal trouble, and so on. In the past, people's hearts were mostly simple; back then, everyone believed that having more friends meant more opportunities. However, now having more friends only consumes more of your state. For every additional friend, you accumulate more karma, and it will drain you even more.
