What is meant by a traitor to the country, here is a modern version.
Tether has issued over $150 billion in USDT (commonly referred to as stablecoins), and according to their claims, the reserve ratio for this new type of currency is 100%. Based on publicly available data, it appears to be at least far exceeding 85%, but it is uncertain how it compares to the levels of various central banks. Many years ago, people began to ask how Tether makes money. Before 2022, Tether regulated itself and deposited cash into Wells Fargo, which at least allowed them to earn interest on deposits in the tens of billions. After the interest rate hike in 2022, Tether started to buy a large amount of U.S. Treasuries, and now holds over $120 billion in U.S. Treasuries. This portion of money has been generating an annualized return of about 4% since the end of 2022.
