IT House March 6 News, tonight, Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the matter, reported that Ferrari is developing a high-performance version of the Purosangue, which is expected to go into production in the second half of this year and will continue to be equipped with a naturally aspirated V12 engine.

The new model will focus on strengthening handling performance to further widen the gap with existing models, while adding a high-end pricing tier without significantly increasing sales volume. By launching a performance derivative version, Ferrari can increase the price per vehicle, without obviously increasing overall production.

Regarding the related report, Ferrari responded to Bloomberg by saying, “The company will not comment on future models.”

In 2025, Ferrari’s total production is close to 14,000 units. To maintain the brand’s scarcity, Ferrari has always strictly controlled its production scale. The company previously said that Purosangue’s production would be limited to about 20% of the total output, and even if market demand continues to be strong, the delivery schedule will not be noticeably accelerated.

Ferrari’s 2026 performance targets announced in February also sent signals to investors: the company still has the ability to maintain growth and profit margins.

For performance versions, Ferrari has also rolled out similar plans in the past. For example, the Assetto Fiorano configuration offered by the SF90 Stradale and 296 GTB strengthens handling performance through chassis tuning, lightweight components, and more. The price usually increases by about $30k or even more.

Purosangue is Ferrari’s first four-door, four-seat model in the company’s history. It is significant for expanding the brand’s customer base, meaning Ferrari no longer relies only on traditional two-seat sports cars.

This crossover model’s starting price is about 450,000 euros(IT House note: the current exchange rate is about 3.608 million yuan). Since it was launched in September 2022, Purosangue has helped Ferrari improve the structure of its product lineup and raise the average selling price. Market demand is also very strong, and early production quickly sold out.

Continuing to retain a V12 internal combustion engine powertrain also shows that, as Ferrari advances its hybrid and electrification strategy, it still sees strong market demand for high-performance fuel-powered power. Ferrari calls the Purosangue a “Ferrari Utility Vehicle(FUV).” Its main competitors include the Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX, and the Porsche Cayenne, among other more affordable luxury performance SUVs.
