Coalition pressures Washington State Treasurer to divest from Caterpillar

A coalition of Jewish and Palestinian human rights advocates, called “Cut Ties with Genocide,” successfully pressured the Washington State Treasurer’s Office to divest $53 million from Caterpillar. The group argues that Caterpillar bulldozers are used by the Israeli military to demolish homes in Palestinian territories, which they describe as “ethnic cleansing.” While Caterpillar stated it does not condone illegal use of its equipment, it did not confirm if it would cease sales to Israel.
