Strait of Hormuz blockade, Mazda's vehicle production for the Middle East will be suspended until May

Due to the impact of the Middle East situation, Toyota and Nissan have adjusted their vehicle production in March, with plans to continue reducing production in April.

According to Japan’s Kyodo News, Mazda announced on April 6 that vehicle production for the Middle Eastern market in Japan will be suspended until May. It is said that the factories will continue to operate and will redirect exports to Europe and America, which is expected to have no impact on output. This consideration is due to the prolonged de facto blockade of the Strait of Hormuz causing export disruptions. Subaru has also ceased exports to the Middle East.

Mazda mainly produces SUVs and other models for the Middle Eastern market, and exports stopped in March. Regarding after June, the company stated it will respond flexibly based on the situation.
