Petroleum prices reached their highest levels during the mortgage crisis, and they are still far from those levels now. When we compare the danger levels between then and now, this period is much more dangerous for the global economy. Iran is not only considering closing the Strait of Hormuz, which boosts oil prices, but also contemplating cutting fiber optic cables under the Persian Gulf.
