Iran submits 10 demands regarding the U.S. ceasefire proposal. Trump: It’s meaningful but not good enough
Local time on April 6, U.S. President Trump responded to Iran’s response to the ceasefire proposal the United States made. Trump said the deadline for reaching an agreement set for Iran was Tuesday (the 7th). He also commented that although Iran’s proposal is meaningful, it is not good enough yet.
Trump also said that if it were up to him, he would “take the oil.”
CCTV reporter earlier on the 6th learned from the Iranian side that Iran has responded to Pakistan regarding the proposal submitted by the United States to end the war.
It is understood that Iran’s demands include ten provisions. The core contents include: emphasizing that a permanent end to the war must be achieved in accordance with Iran’s concerns; putting forward a range of requests, such as ending conflicts in the region, establishing a security and safe-passage agreement for the Strait of Hormuz, post-war reconstruction, and lifting sanctions.
Earlier, some sources said that Pakistan had drawn up a framework proposal to end the conflict and had communicated “through the night” with the United States and Iran. The plan is to first achieve an immediate ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and then reach a final agreement within 15 to 20 days. The final agreement may include Iran’s commitment not to seek nuclear weapons in exchange for sanctions relief and the unfreezing of frozen assets. Reports from the U.S. side indicate that the United States, Iran, and the mediators are discussing a possible 45-day ceasefire agreement to create conditions for subsequent negotiations, and ultimately end the war.
Earlier on the 6th, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Bagheri said that Iran will put forward its own position based on its national interests, security, and the legitimate demands of the Iranian people. Iran has prepared a response to questions such as the war-ending plan conveyed by the mediators, and will publish it to the public in due course. However, he did not reveal the specific details of the ceasefire agreement plan.
