ME News update, April 1 (UTC+8). The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Enforcement Director David Miller issued a warning to insider traders in prediction markets, saying the commission will take enforcement action against violators. At the same time, the commission will exercise prosecutorial discretion and will not put resources into “trivial” cases. “We are watching closely. There is a misunderstanding in mainstream media and on social media that insider trading does not apply to prediction markets…That’s wrong. Our position is that event contracts are not gambling. The event contracts at issue are swap contracts. The insider trading law applies.” (Source: Foresight News)
