Databricks has launched Lakewatch, a brand-new AI security product that combines data storage capabilities with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tasks, utilizing Anthropic’s Claude AI agent. The product is based on the acquisition of two startups: Antimatter, acquired last year, and SiftD.ai, completed this Monday. Terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed. Antimatter raised $12 million in funding in 2022 and focuses on security data control planes; the newer SiftD.ai offers an interactive notebook for human-machine collaboration. Employees from both startups have joined Databricks, with Antimatter’s founder Andrew Krioukov currently leading the Lakewatch team. The company stated it will continue to pursue strategic acquisitions.
