China Relaxes Brazil Soybean Import Testing, May Ease Soybean Meal Prices

Pressured by profit-taking from long positions before the weekend and a decline in nearby soybean meal futures, which also brought relative price pressure, CBOT soybean futures benchmark prices closed down 0.6%, ending a four-day consecutive rally. Although domestic soybean and soybean meal inventories have decreased, boosting factory willingness to raise prices, recent news indicates that China will relax weed and pest inspections for imported Brazilian soybeans. Once the soybeans arrive and clear customs, they will be processed in factories for crushing. This is expected to increase soybean meal supply, which may ease the recent high prices of soybean meal.
