The company’s indium phosphide wafers have an existing annual capacity of 150,000 pieces (2-4 inches). Due to increased demand in the optical communication market and rising raw material prices, product prices have recently increased. The company has been supplying downstream epitaxy manufacturers or device manufacturers with epitaxy capabilities in bulk.

On March 19, Yunnan Germanium Industry (002428.SZ) announced in an investor relations activity record that the company’s indium phosphide wafer capacity is 150,000 pieces per year (2-4 inches). Due to increased demand in the optical communication market and rising raw material prices, product prices have recently increased. The company has been supplying downstream epitaxy manufacturers or device manufacturers with epitaxy capabilities in bulk.

The company’s fiber-grade germanium product is germanium tetrachloride for optical fiber use, with an existing capacity of 60 tons per year. The fiber-grade germanium products have been produced stably in large quantities for many years, with customers including well-known domestic optical fiber manufacturers.

Additionally, the company’s “Space Solar Cell Germanium Wafer Construction Project” was launched in March 2025, with a planned construction period of 18 months. By the end of 2025, it will have an annual capacity of 1.25 million pieces (equivalent to 4 inches). Once fully built, the project will reach a production capacity of 2.5 million pieces.

Regarding gallium arsenide product planning, the company established a subsidiary in Hubei, Xinyao, in November 2025 to implement the “High-Quality Gallium Arsenide Wafer Construction Project.” The planned construction period is 18 months, ultimately aiming to build an annual production line of 700,000 six-inch high-quality gallium arsenide wafers and supporting an annual production of 30,000 sets of semiconductor-grade 4-6 inch quartz tubes. Construction is currently proceeding as planned.

The company also stated that in the future, while focusing on germanium products, it will increase research and development and market expansion of existing compound semiconductor materials. By expanding sales of deep-processed products and increasing their sales proportion, the company aims to gradually shift its internal industry towards deep processing, thereby continuously enhancing its overall competitiveness.
