China Life Property & Casualty Insurance Beijing Branch brings you: Stay alert to car insurance proxy policies and protect your property safety!

In recent years, with the rapid development of the domestic insurance market, some “unauthorized insurance intermediaries” have been promoting “low-cost insurance,” “quick processing,” and “full-service agency” as gimmicks to illegally conduct car insurance proxy services. Such behaviors conceal multiple risks and seriously infringe on consumers’ legal rights. China Life Property & Casualty Insurance Beijing Branch hereby reminds all car owners to stay alert, choose legitimate channels for insurance, and effectively protect their legal rights.
First, high risk of information leakage: When proxy insurance is conducted, consumers need to provide sensitive personal information such as ID cards, driving licenses, and bank account numbers. Unauthorized intermediaries lack proper information security measures, making it easy for data to be leaked or sold, which can lead to scams, theft, and other subsequent harms.
Second, no guarantee of policy validity: Some intermediaries may cut costs by implementing “reducing coverage without lowering premiums,” “faking policies,” or “delaying insurance issuance.” After paying fees, consumers may receive invalid policies or policies with reduced coverage. In case of traffic accidents, they may face claims denial, resulting in financial loss.
Third, difficulty in after-sales rights protection: The proxy mode cuts off direct communication between consumers and insurance companies. If customers need to inquire about policies, make amendments, or file claims later, insurance intermediaries often shirk responsibility or disappear, leaving consumers unable to defend their rights and unable to enjoy insurance services promptly.
First, choose legitimate channels: Purchase insurance through the official app, website, offline branches of insurance companies, or authorized insurance intermediaries approved by the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission. Verify the agency’s credentials (you can check the registration information on the official website of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission). Reject “unauthorized insurance intermediaries” offering proxy services.
Second, operate personally: When purchasing car insurance, confirm key details such as the insured information, vehicle details, coverage plan, and premium amount. Be sure to handle and confirm everything personally, and do not entrust others with your personal information or insurance authority to avoid “unaware insurance.”
Third, keep proof of purchase: After completing the purchase, promptly obtain and save insurance policies, premium invoices, and confirmation messages. Use official channels of the insurance company (such as customer service, official website, or mini-program) to verify the authenticity and validity of the policy, ensuring “policy traceability and rights clarity.”
Fourth, beware of low-price traps: Car insurance premiums are related to vehicle model, usage years, coverage scope, etc. There are no legitimate car insurance policies that are “significantly below market price.” Be cautious of promotions claiming “super low premiums” or “high cashback commissions,” and avoid falling into scams for the sake of small savings.
If you find that “unauthorized insurance intermediaries” are engaging in false advertising, illegal proxy insurance, leaking personal information, or if your policy becomes invalid or claims cannot be processed after purchase, you can seek rights protection through the following channels:
First, call the official customer service of the insurance company to verify your policy and negotiate resolution;
Second, file a complaint with the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission or its dispatched agencies (complaint hotline: 12378);
Third, retain relevant evidence (chat records, transfer receipts, intermediary information, etc.) and seek legal remedies to protect your legitimate rights.
Car insurance coverage concerns the safety of vehicle owners and their property rights. Do not trust unauthorized intermediaries’ proxy services out of convenience or for lower prices. China Life Property & Casualty Insurance Beijing Branch urges all car owners: choose legitimate insurance channels, carefully verify policy information, and be the primary person responsible for your property safety.
