China News Service, March 22 — During the China Development Forum 2026 Annual Meeting on March 22, Zheng Yongnian, Dean of the School of Public Policy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), discussed the relationship between technology and security using the recent popular open-source AI agent OpenClaw (commonly known as “Lobster”) as an example.

He stated, “Applications like ‘Lobster’ that penetrate society and enter daily life indicate that technology is being implemented, which is a good thing. But technology should not be accepted blindly; security and development must go hand in hand.” He humorously added, “We should accept this technology on one hand, but also maintain a suspicious attitude towards it.” He emphasized that simply accepting technology is not enough; while promoting its application, we must firmly uphold the bottom line of security.
