【Iran Crisis】Israeli Netanyahu: Will Not Strike Iran's Oil and Gas Facilities Again
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to reports from Iranian media by stating, “First, let me clarify one thing: I am still alive.” He pointed out that the core objectives of Operation Roaring Lion are threefold: (1) Completely eliminate the nuclear threat. (2) Fully eradicate the ballistic missile threat. (3) Destroy these threats entirely before they are buried underground and immune to air strikes.
He said that since the war broke out 20 days ago, we have been steadily moving toward victory, and the Iranian regime is suffering a devastating blow, but there is still more work to do, and we will see it through to the end.
Israel Acts Unilaterally
Regarding reports that Israel lobbied Trump to go to war, Netanyahu said, “Does anyone really think there’s someone who can tell President Trump what to do? Don’t be foolish.”
He added, “Just before his second term was about to be re-elected, I visited him at Mar-a-Lago. The first thing he said to me was: ‘Bibi, we must ensure Iran absolutely cannot have nuclear weapons.’ He told me that himself, and I didn’t need to persuade him.”
Netanyahu clarified that attacking Iran’s natural gas fields was an action Israel took alone, “and Trump asked us to delay future attacks, which we did.”
He continued, “As for whether there are signs of the Iranian regime collapsing? There are many signs. I wish I could disclose all the details, but I have indeed seen them. However, I cannot promise it will definitely collapse; I can only say we are working to create conditions for its collapse. If it survives, it will become extremely weak, losing the industrial base and lethal capabilities it has built over the past decades.”
Regarding the surge in oil prices, Netanyahu said he is doing everything possible to assist the U.S. in reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Once successful, oil prices will fall.
