Late at night, the phone rings urgently—a friend's voice message comes through: "I used 10,000 USDT with 20x leverage to go all-in long, and the market only retraced 5%, and my account was wiped out. What exactly is going on?"

I looked at his trading screenshot, and the situation was very clear: full position with leverage, no stop-loss set. This is a classic mistake. Many traders have fallen into this trap—thinking that going all-in can "withstand" market fluctuations, but in reality, this is the fastest way to get liquidated.

**The truth about leverage liquidation is not in the leverage multiple, but in the position size**

Take a 1000U account as an example. If you use 900U to open a 10x leverage position, a 5% adverse move will directly liquidate you. But if you only use 100U to open the same 10x leverage, it takes a 50% adverse move to get liquidated—that's a huge difference.

My friend's problem is very typical: he put 95% of his principal into one position, and a slight fluctuation was enough to wipe him out instantly.

**Three ironclad rules to truly make risk control a moat**

Never risk more than 20% of your account on a single position. For example, if your account is 10,000U, then at most invest 2,000U in one trade. Even if you pick the wrong direction, setting a 10% stop-loss means a maximum loss of 200U, which is hardly damaging to the principal, leaving room for a comeback.

Never lose more than 3% of your total account in a single trade. Using 2000U with 10x leverage as an example, setting a 1.5% stop-loss in advance means a maximum loss of 300U, which is 3% of the total funds. Even if you fail several times in a row, it won't damage the overall situation.

Avoid opening positions in choppy markets; don’t chase profits by buying high. Only enter during trend breakouts, and even in tempting sideways markets, hold back. Once you open a position, give up on adding more; don’t let emotions drive your decisions.

**The essence of full position is buffer, not gambling**

The full position mechanism is designed as a fault-tolerance for market volatility, but the premise must be light position testing combined with strict risk management.

A trader who once learned this method from me used to blow up his account every month. After following these three principles, he took three months to grow from 5,000U to 80,000U. He later told me: "I used to think going all-in was gambling my life, but now I understand—it’s actually a way to stay safer."

The secret to surviving in this market is not about who earns the fastest, but who survives long enough. Spend less time gambling on the direction, and more on controlling your position size. Slow is fast.

Markets are always there; opportunities are always present. The key is whether you can stay steady enough to wait for your moment.

Full leverage 20x? This guy really wants to accelerate bankruptcy, not even setting stop-losses. No wonder he's getting wiped out instantly.

Using 20x leverage with a full position and not getting liquidated is truly bizarre; this guy is just engaging in suicidal trading.

Using 20x leverage with a full position, it's no wonder you'd get liquidated. This guy probably just wants to exit the market quickly.

Full position with 20x leverage, isn't this just giving away money in trading? Explode at 5%? Wake up, brother.

Full margin 20x all-in on one shot, this isn't trading, it's going to the casino... My friend used to do the same, and within two weeks, his account went from zero to zero again. Now every time he looks at the market, he gets nervous.
