Bittensor (TAO) surges 140% in six weeks, still not peaking? AI sector capital inflows and retail investor sentiment driving the rebound

TAO-4,37%

Gate News, March 2026 — AI narrative continues to heat up, driving a structural rally in the crypto market, with Bittensor (TAO) emerging as one of the focal assets. Over the past six weeks, TAO has gained a total of 140%, rising more than 105% since March 8, reaching a intraday high of $377.8, the highest in nearly four months. Currently, the price remains above $340, fluctuating steadily.

From a capital flow perspective, TAO’s rise is closely linked to the expansion of the decentralized AI sector. Santiment indicates that funds are continuously flowing into decentralized machine learning networks, making them one of the most attractive subfields in the current crypto market. As a core project in this sector, Bittensor directly benefits from the trend of AI and blockchain integration.

On-chain and social data provide signals different from traditional “overheated markets.” Discussions about TAO on platforms like X, Reddit, and Telegram have reached the second-highest level in history, yet market sentiment remains relatively restrained, with a positive-to-negative comment ratio of only 1.5:1. This suggests that the recent rally has not been driven by retail FOMO.

This pattern is often seen as a positive sign for trend continuation. Due to the lack of extreme optimism, short-term speculative interference is limited, making it easier for prices to sustain upward momentum rather than quickly topping out and reversing.

Meanwhile, the fundamentals of the Bittensor ecosystem are strengthening. Data shows that its subnet staking volume has surged from less than $100,000 a year ago to over $620 million, reflecting significantly increased user engagement and capital allocation willingness. This growth not only supports the token’s price but also enhances the network’s long-term value capture capability.

It’s important to note that, despite the currently healthy upward structure, short-term volatility risks still exist. If the AI narrative cools or overall market liquidity tightens, TAO could face a phase of correction.

In this cycle, TAO’s performance offers an important perspective: when price appreciation coincides with rational sentiment, the trend tends to have stronger sustainability.
