Pi Network has rolled out two major updates for its community in late January 2026. The project launched WordPi Beta, a new word game inside the Pi Browser and activated the Stellar Protocol v25 upgrade on its mainnet. Together, these moves show Pi’s focus on user experience and core infrastructure.

The team said the upgrade helps future-proof the network. It improves privacy features and prepares the system for Zero Knowledge proof technology. At the same time, the WordPi app adds a fun and simple daily activity for users. With more than 15.8 million Pioneers already on mainnet, Pi is trying to keep its ecosystem active while strengthening its technical base.

WordPi Beta Brings Daily Game to Pi Browser

WordPi Beta is now live in the Pi Browser. It works like a daily five letter word challenge. Players must guess the word in six tries. Each day brings a new puzzle. The app also adds simple social features. Users can rate the app and give feedback. They can also stake inside the app to help boost its ranking in the Pi ecosystem. This system aims to reward useful apps and guide future updates.

WordPi is one of many small tools Pi wants to use to grow real utility inside its network. Instead of only focusing on price, Pi is pushing daily use and light entertainment that connects users to the platform.

Stellar Protocol v25 Upgrade Goes Live

At the same time, Pi Network completed its upgrade to Stellar Protocol v25. This update focuses on privacy and long term security. It also prepares the network for Zero Knowledge proof support. These tools can help protect user data while allowing the network to verify activity

The team said the upgrade strengthens the base layer of Pi’s blockchain. It improves efficiency and helps future applications run more smoothly. Developers can now build with better tools and stronger protections.

This upgrade also arrived as about 134 million Pi tokens unlocked in January. Instead of reacting only to supply changes, Pi leaders said they are answering with utility and infrastructure. They believe stronger technology will help support long term growth.

Community Vote Shows Network Scale

The protocol upgrade also came with a network wide vote. Millions of Pi users joined the v25 protocol vote. During this event, some users faced app slowdowns and errors. But Pi supporters said this was not a server crash. They called it a real stress test of the system. More than 15.8 million Pioneers took part. This showed the scale of the network and the power of user participation. Many in the community said the event proved Pi’s move toward real decentralization.

Even with small glitches, the vote sent a clear message. Pi users are active and ready to shape the network’s future. Combined with new apps like WordPi and upgrades like Stellar v25, Pi Network is trying to balance growth, security and daily use. As 2026 continues, Pi plans to release more tools and features. The project says its next phase will focus on real apps, better privacy and stronger community control.
