A trial orchestra project in Brazil is drawing attention as it transforms Bitcoin price data into live performance music. The project has just been approved by the Brazilian government to raise a maximum of 1.09 million reais (approximately 197,000 USD) through the Rouanet tax incentive program for cultural initiatives. The concert is scheduled to be held in the capital Brasília, using an algorithm to follow Bitcoin price fluctuations and technical indicators in real-time, thereby converting financial data into melodies, rhythms, and harmonies for the orchestra.
The goal of the project is to help the audience “hear” the fluctuations of Bitcoin, combining traditional symphonic instruments and compositions based on data. Although the use of blockchain infrastructure or on-chain has not been confirmed, the project has passed technical appraisal and is allowed tax deductions for sponsors. This initiative continues the trend of algorithmic art, where crypto data becomes a creative material, similar to programmed NFT works that have reflected Bitcoin prices in visual art.
