CFTC withdraws two regulatory proposals related to digital asset derivation.
Wu learned that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced that it will withdraw two staff advisory documents related to digital assets, namely Document No. 23-07 “Review of Risks Associated with DCO Clearing of Digital Assets” and Document No. 18-14 “Recommendations for Listing Virtual Money Derivations.” The CFTC stated that this move aims to avoid implying that digital asset derivations will receive a different regulatory treatment compared to other products, while considering the rise, maturity of the virtual money derivations market and the regulatory experience accumulated by staff.
