Mars Finance News, March 17 — According to multiple sources, Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei refused to accept a diplomatic proposal for de-escalation delivered through intermediaries during his first foreign policy meeting since taking office. He stated that he would not consider a ceasefire or peace negotiations until the United States and Israel are “forced to surrender, admit defeat, and pay reparations.”

Reports indicate that the military conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran has now entered its third week, resulting in at least 2,000 deaths. Meanwhile, Iran continues to blockade the Strait of Hormuz, leading to rising energy prices and increasing global inflation concerns.

Other media outlets have reported that Mojtaba was injured in a previous airstrike and was secretly sent to Moscow for treatment, though the Iranian ambassador to Russia has publicly denied this claim. Mojtaba was elected last week by religious authorities to succeed his father, the former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was assassinated. He has not yet appeared publicly, and there are widespread speculations about his health and actual governing ability.
