Trump on Shooting Incident: 'We Live in a Crazy World'

On April 27, a suspected shooter appeared outside the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner last Saturday. U.S. President Trump stated that he was unsure if he was the direct target of the shooter. At the time of the incident, he was at the dinner with several government officials. During an interview on Sunday, CBS host asked, “Mr. President, do you know if you were the target of the shooter?” Trump replied, “I don’t know.” He mentioned that he had reviewed materials found by law enforcement related to the suspect in the shooting outside the banquet hall last Saturday. Officials stated that these materials indicated the suspect’s targets were Trump administration officials and expressed that he could no longer remain passive in light of the actions of this administration. When asked how concerned he was about potential casualties last Saturday, Trump paused for a moment. “I’m not worried,” he said slowly. “I understand life. We live in a crazy world.” (Dongxin News Agency)
