Altman releases OpenAI's five principles, stating that future model capabilities may be restricted due to safety concerns
Odaily Planet Daily News reports that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman published five operational principles of the company under his personal signature, and stated that in the future, certain periods may see tightened access to models for users due to safety considerations, in order to strike a balance between empowerment and system resilience.
Altman said that key AI decisions should be driven by democratic processes and not made solely by laboratories, and defended OpenAI’s increased investment in computing power, data center construction, and vertical integration strategies. He also mentioned potential challenges such as powerful models lowering biological risk thresholds, and reiterated OpenAI’s continued iterative deployment strategy.
