Tangeman Sentenced to 70 Months in $263M Crypto Laundering Case
Evan Tangeman was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for laundering proceeds tied to a $263 million crypto theft ring. Prosecutors said Tangeman converted at least $3.5 million in stolen crypto into cash and used fake names to lease luxury homes for members of the group. Prosecutors also linked the ring to an August 2024 theft of more than 4,100 BTC from a Washington, D.C. victim.
