ChainCatcher news: Delphi Digital said in a post on X that in 2025, the GameFi industry’s performance has been weak, with funding down more than 55% year over year. The most anticipated product launches also fell short, and market enthusiasm remains muted.

Web2.5 games are quietly rising. These games treat blockchain purely as infrastructure; they usually do not issue tokens, and they compete based on real revenue. Studios such as Fumb Games, Mythical Games, and Wemade/Wemix continue to generate substantial income while using blockchain technology to improve profit margins and increase engagement.

Web3-native games have generated six- to seven-figure revenue this year, but their player base is smaller and crowded with bots. After the incentive mechanisms disappeared, users left in large numbers. Web2.5 studios can currently leverage blockchain advantages without pressuring users into speculation. The widespread adoption of stablecoins will further accelerate this trend, making small transactions, global payment channels, and engagement-based reward mechanisms more convenient.
