Last night I was staring at the mempool and zoning out again… During congestion, your transaction is like waiting in line at a convenience store, first it shows “Sent” to trick you, then it gets stuck there while others cut in line: someone tips (pays higher fees) and goes first, if you don’t add a tip, you just wait, until your patience shifts from “Almost confirmed” to “Forget it, I’m going to sleep.” The worst part is when you get anxious and click twice, ending up racing against yourself, with gas fees melting away as fast as ice cream.

Recently, hardware wallets are out of stock again, phishing links are everywhere, and the more congested it gets, the easier it is to get impulsive and confirm blindly… My current way to avoid impulsive transactions is pretty simple: when I see something I want to chase, I first put my phone on the bedside table, go pour a glass of water, then look again; if I still want to buy, I only change the parameters once, no adding more funds repeatedly, otherwise it’s just my emotions trading, not me. That’s it for now.
