Suspect in White House Correspondents' Dinner Security Incident to Be Charged on 27th

On April 26, local time, U.S. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that a search warrant had been executed against the suspect involved in the White House Correspondents’ Dinner security incident. The suspect is believed to have traveled from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. via train, passing through Chicago. Blanche stated that the suspect will be charged in federal court on the morning of the 27th. He described the shooter at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner as having ‘the intent to attack government officials, likely including the President himself.’ Blanche indicated that investigators have been able to gather some information from the suspect’s electronic devices and have interviewed individuals who know him, beginning to understand his motives for the crime.
