U.S. Acting Attorney General: Gunman at White House Correspondents' Dinner May Have Targeted Trump

U.S. Acting Deputy Attorney General Blanc on the 26th said that a search warrant has been executed on the suspect in the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, and stated that the suspect’s target was government officials, possibly including U.S. President Donald Trump. Blanc told NBC News on the same day that the suspect had purchased two guns in the past few years and traveled by train from Los Angeles through Chicago to Washington before the incident. The suspect lives in the hotel where the dinner was held and is believed to have acted alone. According to U.S. media reports, the suspect is named Cole Allen, 31 years old, from California.
