The U.S. dollar index, which measures the dollar against six major currencies, rose 0.3% for the day, closing at 98.393 at the end of the forex trading session.
By the end of the New York forex market, 1 euro was exchanged for 1.1744 U.S. dollars, down from 1.1782 dollars the previous trading day; 1 British pound was exchanged for 1.3508 U.S. dollars, down from 1.3536 dollars the previous trading day.
1 U.S. dollar was exchanged for 159.35 Japanese yen, up from 158.87 yen the previous trading day; 1 U.S. dollar was exchanged for 0.7808 Swiss francs, up from 0.7786 Swiss francs the previous trading day.
1 U.S. dollar was exchanged for 1.366 Canadian dollars, up from 1.3643 Canadian dollars the previous trading day; 1 U.S. dollar was exchanged for 9.1746 Swedish kronor, up from 9.1269 Swedish kronor the previous trading day.
