Last night, I stared at the blockchain for a long time, and the more I looked, the more I felt something was off: You think you're looking at "real-time," but what you're seeing is actually a version processed by a certain node, a specific RPC, or an indexer. If there's a delay at any step, it can make you a few seconds or even minutes late. Especially when there's congestion or some public RPCs acting up, the "confirmed" status shown on your browser doesn't match what’s in your wallet, and they don’t line up. Don’t rush to suspect you clicked the wrong chain... First, switch to a different RPC or compare with another block explorer; many times, it’s just information latency.

Now, with more phishing links and hardware wallets still out of stock, the more important it is not to be swayed by the phrase "I saw it on-chain." In other words, seeing doesn’t equal confirmation, and confirmation doesn’t equal security. Anyway, my current approach is: cross-verify from multiple sources. I’d rather be a bit slower and stay alive first than chase after quick gains.
