I used to charge into the hype of memes, thinking, “As long as there’s a narrative, I won’t be afraid.” Later, after several waterfall-style drop/liquidation cascades, I learned this: a narrative is group sentiment, not a protective charm. Now I’ll start by writing a very “crude” stop-loss rule: the moment I’m down enough that I start scrolling Twitter to seek comfort, it’s time to leave—don’t stubbornly hold on.

Airdrop season is kind of similar too. As task platforms keep getting stricter about anti-botting, the points system turns the profit-chasers into people rushing like they’re clocking in for work; everyone’s mindset gets even more frantic, and memes blow up at the slightest spark. Put simply, I’ve got two tactics: keep my position so small I can sleep at night, and pre-set “what to do if bad news comes.” Whether I profit or not is up to fate—don’t hand your stop-loss decisions to emotions; emotions are the best performers.
