Oh my god, I was shocked by this post in the community group today 😱 They say that top YouTuber Lao Gao and Xiao Mo have been reported for administrative penalties, with a fine as high as 415 million RMB??? I initially thought it was fake.
According to the screenshot, it’s because after making videos for many years by over-the-wall and then being found to have evaded taxes, they were given a 10x fine by the Dalian police. Their total YouTube income from 2014 to 2026 adds up to only $5.77 million, but the fine is directly several tens of times that figure. This scandal is really huge.
Online, it was dug up that Lao Gao’s real name is Gao Quan, and he’s from Dalian, while Xiao Mo is from Inner Mongolia. The two got married in Japan in 2009, and later moved to Singapore to live in 2021. I heard that Xiao Mo’s family is quite well-off, mainly doing real estate investment. With a scandal this big coming out, I don’t know whether it’s true or not—what do you all think?
