Iran’s representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Reza Najafi, stated that the attack on the Bushehr nuclear power plant was deliberately carried out by Israel, and the International Atomic Energy Agency should publicly condemn it. Najafi told Iran’s News Television in an exclusive interview that attacking the Bushehr nuclear power plant is a very serious act. The head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, Islami, has sent a letter to IAEA Director General Grossi urging him to condemn Israel’s attack on the Bushehr nuclear power plant, but Iran has not received any response to this letter or previous correspondence. According to Iran’s News Television, the Bushehr nuclear power plant was deliberately attacked on the evening of the 17th, with the attack site only 200 meters from the reactor. This attack is the third attack targeting areas near Iran’s nuclear facilities in the current U.S.-Israel aggressive actions. “We have not seen any positive response from the IAEA; it only calls for restraint,” Najafi said. “Condemning these attacks is the responsibility of the IAEA.” (Xinhua)
