Just now I got stuck again in the mempool queue, staring at the pending line like I'm looking at a food delivery map... Basically, you put your transaction into the "waiting room," and miners/block producers will prioritize those who pay higher tips. When there's congestion, you'll be pushed to the back or even replaced (a new transaction with the same nonce but higher fee, which is like withdrawing and resubmitting). What's more annoying is that you think it's just slow, but actually the on-chain state is changing: slippage, balances, available credit might be different from the moment you confirmed the transaction... In the end, it either fails and wastes gas, or it goes through but at a strange price. Recently, the staking and shared security setups are called "nested dolls," and I kind of resonate: the compounded yields look tempting, but when it gets congested, even exiting requires queuing. The risk isn't written in the tweets; it's written in the pending transactions... Anyway, I now prefer to interact less rather than stay up late fixing nonces and having my mood blow up.
