Ryanair: Possible airline fuel shortages in Europe in May

Europe’s largest low-cost airline, Ireland’s Ryanair, CEO Michael O’Leary, said on April 1st that if the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz continues, the airline could face a fuel shortage of up to 25% between May and June, and European aviation fuel supplies will become tight in May. According to the International Air Transport Association, about 25% to 30% of Europe’s aviation fuel comes from the Gulf region, making it one of the regions most severely affected by Middle Eastern tensions.
