On March 6th, at the press conference on the economic theme of the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress, Zheng Shanjie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated that this year marks the beginning of the “14th Five-Year Plan.” The start is crucial to the overall situation, and to achieve the expected goals, efforts should be focused on four key areas. First, enhance the efficiency of macroeconomic regulation and control, adhere to a balance of stability and progress, improve quality and efficiency, emphasizing both strength and coordination. Strength means continuing to implement more proactive macro policies and increasing counter-cyclical and cross-cyclical adjustments. Second, emphasize coordination strength, which is to leverage the integrated effects of both stock and incremental policies, the superimposed effects of macro policies and reform measures, strengthening coordination across fiscal, monetary, industrial, investment, employment, consumption, price, regional, and other areas, and implementing a policy mix.
