Iran attacks Azerbaijan airport, Foreign Ministry: Deeply concerned about the ongoing tension in Middle East affairs
On March 6th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a routine press conference. A reporter asked, yesterday Iran attacked an airport in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has not participated in the U.S. and Israel’s military actions against Iran, which is seen as a spillover of the escalating tensions in the Middle East. What is China’s comment on this? Mao Ning stated, “We are deeply concerned about the ongoing tense situation in the Middle East. The immediate priority is to stop military actions immediately, prevent the spread of the conflict, and avoid further escalation of the situation.” (The Paper)
