In the 2025/26 fiscal year, the total public inspection volume of cotton processing enterprises nationwide increased by 12.56% year-on-year.

For the 2025/26 national cotton processing season, cotton is processed in accordance with the requirements of the Cotton Quality Inspection System Reform Plan, and notarized inspection statistics are compiled. As of 24:00 on March 05, 2026, the cumulative number of bales that have undergone notarized inspection is 33.1575 million bales, totaling 7.4847 million tons; this represents a year-on-year increase of 12.56%. Of this, the cumulative notarized inspection volume for Xinjiang cotton is 7.1057 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.69%. Of that, the notarized inspection quantities include 32.9861 million bales of combed fine-spun cotton with serrated lint, 19,805 bales of roller-ginned fine-spun cotton, and 0.1516 million bales of long-staple cotton.
