American judge halts White House banquet hall project, Trump claims the project was not over budget

On March 31 local time, U.S. District Court Judge Richard Leon in the District of Columbia ordered the Trump administration to suspend the renovation project of the White House Banquet Hall until congressional authorization is obtained. The National Trust for Historic Preservation, a U.S. heritage conservation organization, sued President Trump and several federal agencies on December 12 last year, demanding a halt to the ongoing White House Banquet Hall renovation project, claiming that the project is illegal. Previously, a U.S. federal court had temporarily halted the construction of the White House Banquet Hall, and related litigation is still ongoing. (CCTV News)
