StarkWare researchers published a paper stating that Bitcoin can achieve quantum resistance through the "Quantum Safe Bitcoin (QSB)" scheme without the need for soft forks. The scheme is based on a hash function to construct a signature mechanism, replacing the currently vulnerable elliptic curve encryption threatened by quantum computing, thereby enhancing security. However, the current cost per single transaction is approximately $75 to $150, which is far higher than existing levels, and the user experience is complex. Researchers believe it is more suitable as a "last resort." Overall, it is still in the experimental stage and difficult to scale for large-scale application in the short term.
